What These Opinions Cover — and What They Do Not

  • Retained by both sides. Of the matters disclosed, 20 were retained by plaintiff counsel and 9 by defense counsel. Opinions follow the facts and the applicable standard of care, not the retaining party.
  • Operational, not engineering. Ryan's opinions address hospitality and entertainment operations — staffing, training, policy, procedure, supervision, alcohol service and security practice. They do not extend to structural, rigging, electrical or biomechanical engineering, toxicology, or medical causation.
  • Surveillance is read operationally. Where video is reviewed or compiled, the opinion concerns what the footage shows about operations and timeline — not image authentication or forensic video engineering.
