Positioning

The Law Sets the Page, Not a Template

Dram shop exposure is not uniform, and several states bar the claim against a licensee outright — Delaware, Kansas, Maryland, Nevada, South Dakota and Virginia among them, with Louisiana, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Mississippi, Florida and Nebraska limiting it sharply. Those pages lead on premises liability, security operations and hospitality standards, because that is what the law leaves available. A state page that sells a dram shop claim in a state with no dram shop cause of action is worse than no page at all.
